Sunrider was selected as a winner in the “distribution sector” by a recent study conducted by three prominent news publications. The study served to determine the most outstanding franchise business opportunities in Korea, a country that currently has about 2,400 franchise companies and about 257,000 stores operating in the franchise market.
The study, entitled the “Korean Franchise Competitiveness Research,” was initiated to help remedy the dearth of objective and practical information available to prospective franchise business owners who often are confused about what type of business to start. The study’s findings aim to provide meaningful information that can be used to evaluate the plethora of franchise opportunities.
The study was conducted April–July 2010 by the Korea Economic Daily, JoongAng, and the Korean Customers’ Forum, and involved the 2,078 companies/brands registered by the Fair Trade Commission. A complete survey and extensive research were carried out to measure franchise owner satisfaction and evaluate areas integral to the successful running of a franchise business. These areas included support services, management, training, product and service quality, dispute resolution, research and development, trustworthiness of head office, social responsibility, profitability, growth potential, and perception of brand image abroad.
The results of the survey along with data from the research were then evaluated by a committee of industry experts, and the top companies in six different sectors were determined (18 winners in total). Sunrider was selected a winner in the “distribution sector.”
Recognition of Sunrider as a company offering an exceptional franchise opportunity is further testimony to its commitment to achieve excellence in everything it does. Sunrider Korea looks forward to continued success and expansion with its franchise business operations in the years to come.
