A recent article on MSNBC.com reports that new research shows that exposure to pesticides used on “common kid-friendly foods” appears to increase the chances that children will be diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Scientists in the United States and Canada found that children with high levels of pesticide residue in their urine were more likely to have ADHD, a behavior disorder that often disrupts school and social life. Maryse F. Bouchard, a researcher at the University of Montreal in Quebec and the lead author of the study published in the journal Pediatrics, says the important message for parents is to “buy organic as much as possible” and she recommends “washing fruits and vegetables as much as possible.”

Bowers Museum Collectors’ Council Tours Chen Art Gallery, Visits Product Fair

Following a tour of the Chen Art Gallery, Bowers Museum Collectors’ Council members were welcomed to a special Product Fair created just for them.

Held in the Healthy Life Store, we demonstrated products from the Oi-Lin® Skin Care Set, Kandesn® Protective Foundation SPF 15, SunSmile® Herbal Toothpaste, and SunBreeze® Balm & Oil! After describing the power of our skin care and cosmetic products, Kandesn® Marketing Manager Julie McLewee had to run and get extra business cards to give to all those who wanted to schedule appointments in the Kandesn® Room!

Delicious VitaShake® Strawberry smoothie samples filled with strawberry and pineapple were doled out, and the amazing cleaning power of our SunSmile® Fruit & Vegetable Rinse was illustrated on waxy broccoli from the grocery store (it emerged gorgeously green!).
