Sunrider International, a company founded in the United States 27 years ago, hosted a party at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel on Saturday, September 26, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Sunrider Canada office. Nearly 200 people attended the party.

John Teng, North America sales manager, was the keynote speaker at the party; he is the son-in-law of Sunrider’s founder Dr. Tei-Fu Chen. John’s ancestry is half Chinese and half German and Irish. He has learned to speak Mandarin, and he gave a summary on the philosophical concepts behind Sunrider® products. He talked about concepts such as Yin and Yang and their influence on the body. He also explained how the “Five Elements” of the body need to be in balance to achieve optimal health. John related how taking only supplements like protein powder to improve energy is not enough; this can’t compare to consuming real food-based products that are diverse, specially formulated, and manufactured under exacting standards of quality.

Sunrider has manufacturing facilities in the United States. And after 25 years of expansion in Asia, Sunrider will continue its efforts to build upon its success in Canada by using British Columbia, Canada as a bridge for its expansion into eastern Canada. John also mentioned, that in the future, a direct selling model could be implemented alongside a business model based on Authorized Business Owners, to increase brand recognition and sales. He added that in today’s global economy, good news from the Asian markets will strengthen the development of the North American market.
