Drs. Chen Launch North American ABO Training

Drs. Chen launched Sunrider’s first North American Authorized Business Owner (ABO) training on Monday, April 27, at World Headquarters. This three-day training is being attended by eager Business Leaders from the USA and Canada who are ready to open a store immediately after returning home.

Mrs. Chen and Sunny Beutler led the first day’s training, which focused on where and how to open a store, and store designs, exteriors, and interiors.

The training event is off to a great start with our bright ABOs learning the crucial components in running a successful franchise-like business.

Sunrider Leaving MySpace

Sunrider has decided not to continue our presence on MySpace after our profile, with all of its content, was removed recently without warning. We are disappointed and frustrated about this situation, as we put a lot of time and effort into our site and enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to interact and share ideas online with our many MySpace friends. We weren’t notified beforehand of any possible problem or violation of MySpace policies, nor were we provided the specific reason (which we requested) for our termination after our profile was removed.

Rest assured Sunrider used a very strong password to protect our MySpace profile, and actively monitored/moderated the profile for inappropriate content.

Our research indicates this is not an uncommon situation; we’ve a come across a number of people complaining about MySpace profiles being deleted without any prior notification or subsequent explanation.

We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience the removal of the Sunrider MySpace profile may have caused. Please note that we greatly value our online presence (which helps us stay in touch with Sunriders around the world!) and will continue to post on Facebook, Blogger, Twitter, and YouTube.

Sunrider Partners with Southern California Edison to Save Energy and Protect the Environment

Sunrider International was recently awarded a “Program Certificate of Participation” from Southern California Edison (or SCE Corp). The certificate, dated March 2009, acknowledges Sunrider’s participation in the “Edison Base Interruptible Demand Response Program,” and recognizes Sunrider’s partnership with Southern California Edison in a combined effort “to save energy, money, and help protect the environment.” SCE Corp. is the largest subsidiary of Edison International and the primary electricity supply company for much of Southern California.

Sunrider’s participation in the program resulted in the reduction of 65,740 pounds of CO2 greenhouse gas emissions. This is equivalent to removing five passenger vehicles from the road and powering four homes with electricity for one year. Sunrider’s continued participation in the program helps ensure power reliability in the community, lower business energy costs, and defer the need to build new power plants.

Sunrider will continue to follow Federal and State guidelines and participate in energy-saving programs. The following are a few of the projects Sunrider is working on with SCE Corp. in our continuing effort to conserve energy and protect the environment:

1. Replace all old air-conditioning units with high efficiency, ozone-friendly units.
2. Install a “building environmental system” (or “building automation system”). This comprehensive, high-tech system will control the temperature and the lighting in our facilities, enabling us to completely monitor and manage all of the energy used in any room of the building.
3. Install a solar electric system or PV (photovoltaic) system on the roof to generate electricity and reduce electricity costs.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum

Sunny and Jonathan Beutler visited the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum on April 18, 2009. Sunrider International was one of the first major donors to the library, and our name is displayed proudly at the entrance to the library and museum. The library thoroughly documents the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. While there, Sunny and Jonathan visited an exact replica of the Oval Office, saw an actual piece from the Berlin Wall, and walked through the Air Force One airplane that President Reagan and Nancy Reagan actually frequently flew in.

They also had the special opportunity of seeing an original copy of the Magna Carta, which was issued in the year 1215. The Magna Carta is one of the most important documents in the history of democracy and a model for the U.S. Constitution. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum has informed and inspired more than one million visitors since opening in 1991. Perched on a mountaintop with sweeping views of mountains, valleys, and the Pacific Ocean, this 100-acre site, 45 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, offers memorable experiences for people of all ages.
