Beef Bulgogi (Korean Barbeque) Recipe

A Sunrider from Korea shared this recipe with us, and it looked so good we wanted to share it with everyone! This dish offers a tantalizing blend of textures and flavors…plus it provides the “hands-on” fun of wrapping your own bite-size BBQ “sandwiches” in crispy lettuce and then popping them in your mouth. So bon appétit, or as they say in Korea, jal meokkesseumnida!

Serves about four

Ingredients:
  • 600g beef (recommend thin slices of sirloin)
  • ½ onion
  • ½ green pepper
  • 1/3 carrot
  • ½ head of lettuce
  • 1/8 pear
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon SunnyDew®
  • 1 tablespoon Dr. Chen® Secret Sauce™
  • 1g Fortune Delight®

Instructions:
  1. Dice onion, green pepper, pear, and carrot (after rinsing them with SunSmile® Fruit & Vegetable Rinse).
  2. Make a marinade in a bowl by mixing SunnyDew®, Dr. Chen® Secret Sauce™, soy sauce, chopped pear, garlic, sesame oil, and the sesame seeds. Marinate overnight.
  3. Put beef in a sauce pan and add vegetables and Fortune Delight®. Then add the marinade.
  4. Cook in a preheated pan for about 15 minutes at 100C. Sprinkle on Fortune Delight® to enhance aroma.
  5. Place small portions of beef on bite-size lettuce leaves.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
