New Sunrider Internet Policies

As you may know, Sunrider is increasing its presence on the Internet, and recently updated the Business Guide to encourage IBOs to promote their Sunrider business on the Internet. I am an attorney with Sunrider, and helped draft the new language in the Business Guide. Because these changes are exciting, I wanted to give IBOs an overview of the new rules.

The biggest change is that IBOs can now publicize their Sunrider business on the Internet. This includes your own personal or business website, online advertising, and social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook. IBOs can use Sunrider’s text and images on their websites, and can use all of Sunrider’s trademarks. If you are drafting your own content, be sure not to make any improper health or income claims. Your content can also include links to any Sunrider website (including Sunrider’s main website, Sunrider Shop online, and our blogs), have discussion forums, and explain your experiences with Sunrider’s products. YouTube videos, online product demos, or a daily blog—the sky’s the limit!

Keep in mind a few guidelines when promoting your Sunrider business online. First, Sunrider does not allow online sales by IBOs (other than through Replicator websites). Second, make sure to use the Sunrider IBO logo, and not the Sunrider logo. Third, you must state that you are independent of Sunrider, and not copy the look and feel of any Sunrider website. Fourth, do not use the name Sunrider or any of Sunrider’s product names in any domain name, blog address, online profile, or other online identity.

Sunrider also recommends that IBOs setup their own Replicator website, which they can then promote online. A Replicator website allows IBOs to link to products for sale through Sunrider Shop Online, and will automatically track SV for such purchases.

As with printed promotional materials produced by IBOs, Sunrider needs to review all non-Replicator websites for compliance with the Sunrider® Business Guide. When your website or other online content is finalized, please tell us about it through the form at http://business.sunrider.com/CustService/WebCompliance.asp. Please note that you do not have to submit Replicator websites for compliance review.

This article is just a small overview of the new rules, and IBOs should carefully review parts N and O of Section 3. I. of the August 2008 Business Guide for complete details. If you have any questions about these changes, please contact your upline or local Sunrider Business Services Department.
